Reducing Stress while driving

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Are looking forward to car rides to the beach for a weekend get away this spring?

What happens when you hit traffic? Do you pull of on the side of the road throw that trusty car cover, truck cover or suv cover on and wait it out? Or face traffic right along with the stress it brings?

If you plan on continuing on, here are a few tops to Reduce stress while driving!

First, know your destination! If you do not have a navigation system make sure to map out your route and have directions on hand. Next, try to allow yourself extra time. The thought of being late or in a hurry may raise your blood pressure. If traveling with children bring snacks just in case the traffic cuts into dinner time. If your children are occupied with food or other activities you will be better focused. Also you never know when you’ll need a snack as well!

March 29th - when the season will kick off!

The new Formula 1 season begins at the end of this month in Melbourne Australia. Will this be an interesting year?  After the young Lewis Hamilton took his first championship last year Formula 1 is trying to breathe some life back into the sport.  With numerous rule changes for this year including aerodynamic restrictions, 8 engine’s per team for the whole season, and non treaded tires (first time since 1998) they are trying to do everything possible to increase overtaking and get away from the runaway races of the past. Take off that car cover and get ready set race!

Time for Spring Cleaning!

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

With spring quickly approaching it may to time to get your ride ready! Many people gear Spring Cleaning towards their homes; I say why not focus on your vehicle! So take off that car cover and get started!

Start with the inside of your ride. Clean out unneeded items remember each item adds extra weight to your vehicle, extra weight uses more gas! Next move onto those floor mats.  Take them out, shake them out and put that vacuum to work. Continue onto the cup holders, door panels, glove box and any other places you may find missing items! When you’re ready to move onto the exterior, think inside windows and mirrors. Clean windows help give a clear view while on the road.

Moving on to the exterior of your car! Remember a vehicle should never be washed in direct sunlight. Get that soapy bucket ready and begin by wetting the whole vehicle. Now get to work washing away all that winter dirt and grime!

Dodge Challenger

Friday, March 13th, 2009

With the muscle car bandwagon in full swing Dodge’s new take on the old Challenger has Mopar fans all over reminiscing over the good old days and running out to buy their limited edition Vanishing Point Dvds.  With classic styling and the option for a huge 6.1L Hemi V8 under the hood connected to a 6spd manual gearbox this modern day muscle has a chance to take a good chunk of sales from it’s Mustang and Camaro counterparts. The car covers are off and the new challengers are ready to hit the streets!

BMW M3

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

This car is definitely not “All Show” with “No Go”.  The owners of this car regularly take it to the track and put this beautiful BMW M3 car through its paces.  If you look closely you can see that they even drove this vehicle to the show on winter sport tires.  A good car cover and some quality cleaning products can keep your daily driver as nice as this!

Nissan Cube

Monday, March 9th, 2009

The best way to describe Nissan’s new “Cube” is in the name! This new SUV puts a direct target on the back of the Toyota owned Scion Xb.  This new boxy four door has softer styling than the toaster styled Xb and could prove to be quite popular with the younger crowd. This new said to be “Cartoon” like ride, needs custom floormats with fun floormat logos to go with the look!

1956 Jaguar

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

This 1956 Jaguar D type was a very successful racing design.  Combined with a strong engine it gave the British made Jaguar victories at LeMans 3 years running from 55-57.  This particular car at the show finished 3rd in the Sebring 12 Hour race. This piece of motor sport history is hopefully kept under a car cover!

1970 Plymouth Superbird

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Here is one American muscle classic that would need one crazy custom car cover if an owner didn’t have it parked in a museum or private showroom.  The Superbird broke records with its wind tunnel design and was eventually banned from NASCAR for the aerodynamic advantages it had over its rivals.  Add the aerodynamics with a 440 hemi and this classic can still keep up with the big boys of today.  With the cartoon styling and the unmistakable huge rear wing with the trademark Roadrunner decal this classic will always have its place in automotive history.
